A different kind of Healthcare Experience
Exhausted by complicated protocols? Let me simplify the overwhelm! I offer practical, methodical care for anyone who is ready to work smarter – not harder – and trust that less (supplements, testing) can truly be more.
My Approach
As a Physician Assistant practicing functional medicine, I have worked with thousands of patients since 2014. I’ve been at practices that focused heavily on supplement use and “data” (lots of labs), but when I started asking patients what they attributed to their health improvement, over 70% of my patients said it was how they looked at their illness (their mindset, beliefs, and understanding of what was going on with their body).
Thus, over the last few years, I focus on working with people who recognize that good health requires both external guidance and internal “work”…and they believe they can get better!
What I Treat
I have experience in addressing almost any symptom or condition via functional medicine, and am particularly passionate about what I call the “G.A.M.E.” changers:
- Gut-brain health (including Alzheimer’s Disease prevention/early treatment, anxiety/depression, chronic bloating or GI issues)
- Autoimmunity (e.g. thyroid autoimmunity, immune imbalances triggered by response to microbes such as Covid)
- Metabolic/Mitochondria (including fatigue, pain)
- Environmental/Endocrine/Eu-Aging (including hormone replacement therapy or optimization)
Getting Started
Step 1: Free 15 minute consultation
Step 2: One hour introductory visit/consult (includes an depth review of medical history) ($300)
Step 3: One hour planning session to review baseline labs ($300) (lab cost = $250)
Step 4: For continued care, 6-month program will be recommended based off goals and health concerns
Note, a patient must be physically located in Texas or Florida at the time of appointments, per state medical practice laws.
Any patients from previous practices can skip step 2 and 3, as long as medical records are obtained. Fill out this form if you are worked with Meg at another practice, and/or want to skip the consultation and apply to be a patient.
FAQ
What is the cost of your services?
I realize that functional and integrative medicine can be cost prohibitive, and my services take this into account (while also reflecting my 12+ years of experience, wisdom, and countless hours of education).
My fee schedule is as follows:
- Introductory consultation (60 min): $300
- Comprehensive lab panel through Quest: $250
- Planning session (to review labs, 60 min): $300
Programs
These are for comprehensive, relationship-building care (versus transactional, “fee-for-service” care). All programs are 6-months (and require a 3-month commitment):
- Transformation Program ($229/month):
- For those working on a chronic symptom or condition, and need/want a visit with me every 5-6 weeks
- Includes 4 follow up visits, quick visits as needed
- This will be the best option for most new patients so we can develop a trusting relationship (with option after 6 months to change to the Refine program)
- Refine Program ($129/month):
- For those who need continued follow ups to maintain prescriptions (e.g. hormone replacement therapy, thyroid management, peptides/longevity)
- Includes 2 follow up visits, quick calls as needed
- Option to extend this to a 12-month program ($65/month) based on individual circumstances and clinical needs
Prescriptions and lab costs are not included.
High quality supplements can be purchased at 20% off through Fullscript (click here to get set up).
What is your payment and cancellation policy?
I accept all major credit cards.
I require payment be made prior to your appointment through a card on file. If there are issues with payment going through, this may result in appointment cancellation.
For memberships, there is an option to pay monthly or pay in full for 6 months. Memberships will NOT automatically renew after 6 months.
Cancellation policy:
If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, I have already spent time preparing for your appointment and this is a disservice to me (and affects the ability of other patients to be serviced).
I respectfully request 2 business days notice if you need to cancel. A fee may be applied if cancellation or no-show occurs within 2 business days.
For memberships, I respectfully request a 3 month commitment. Cancellations will be on a case-by-case basis, and take into account time and care already provided (via visits, messages, etc).
Do you take insurance or Medicare/Medicaid?
I am not contracted with, or bill, insurance companies directly for services. But I can provide a super bill to submit to insurance for out of pocket care.
I am not registered with Medicare or Medicaid.
For commercial lab work, I offer up front cash prices (generally under $300, even for a very large panel of tests). You can opt to have Quest or Labcorp bill your insurance for labs (unless you have Medicare or Medicaid), but I cannot guarantee insurance coverage.
Why don’t most functional or integrative medicine clinics take insurance?
Traditionally, insurance companies dictate what can or cannot be ordered (and thus covered), and do not reimburse for time spent with patients (and time is a significant factor in healing!).
Can I work with you without signing up for a membership?
Possibly, depending on your needs.
Committing to a membership allows for communication between visits, the option for quick phone calls or labs, and access to new perks as they evolve (e.g. educational videos, discounts to various health-related products, events, etc).
Every individual visit is $300, but communication between visits is not included (I thoroughly and thoughtfully respond to messages – memberships have the time/effort it takes for me to respond included in the price)
What kind of training is required to practice functional medicine?
- There is no license or degree in functional medicine. Some training institutions offer certifications (but not required for practice).
- Functional medicine practitioners are trained via a variety of organizations, with the most popular programs via the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), School of Applied Functional Medicine (SAFM), and the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
- When you see a functional medicine practitioner who has education in mainstream medicine (MD, DO, PA, NP), we are obligated to address the “standard of care” as well as functional medicine services. For example, if someone has really high cholesterol, a statin is the standard of care (pros and cons of which will be discussed during a visit).
However, anyone can call themselves a “functional medicine practitioner,” even without training, since there are no licensing or certifying organizations that regulate this model of medicine. This can make it very confusing for both patients and practitioners!

Who is the best type of patient for functional medicine?
- The “best” patient for functional medicine is one that:
- Wants to decrease reliance on pharmaceuticals
- Wants to do more for their health beyond pills (for example, modify habits such as avoiding coffee on an empty stomach)
- Wants to be an active participant in his/her health
- Wants an investigative provider
- Wants longer appointments
- Wants to set an example for their family (or transfer what is learned in a functional medicine visit to support the health of his/her family)
- Functional medicine is best for those that:
- Want to understand their body, be educated.
- Understand that there is no magic pill or quick fix for a chronic illness or symptom.
- Want to optimize health for the long-term, to improve overall quality of life.
What's the difference between functional and mainstream medicine?
Functional medicine:
- PROMOTES health and feeling good on a daily basis
- Is a model best suited for addressing/reversing CHRONIC diseases/symptoms or PREVENTING chronic disease states.
- Functional medicine is a MODEL – not a specialty.
- PERSONALIZED medicine. There are no treatment algorithms in functional medicine (algorithms often imply a “one-size-fits all approach”).
- A lot of functional medicine care is not validated or recognized by mainstream medicine. Many treatments and tests utilized in functional medicine are considered “experimental” (but generally come from new medical research that has not yet been tested on thousands of people)
Mainstream/Conventional Medicine:
- Focused on TREATING DISEASES (over improving overall health and resiliency)
- Great at addressing ACUTE healthcare needs.
- Great for those that don’t want a lot of time with a practitioner, or who don’t want to understand the “why” behind a treatment recommendation or presence of a condition/symptom
- Great for those that don’t want to put the work into improving lifestyle or mindset, and prefer a convenient pill or procedure.
Are there any conditions you do not treat?
I currently do not treat:
- Pediatric conditions (anyone under the age of 18; however, I will accept patients between 12-18 years old if a parent is enrolled in care).
- Active cancer
- Lyme or vector-borne disease
