Work Smarter, Not Harder

Exhausted by complicated protocols? Let me simplify the overwhelm. I offer practical, methodical care for anyone ready to trust that less — fewer supplements, fewer tests — can truly be more.

My Approach

I’ve spent over a decade working with functional medicine practices that leaned heavily on supplement stacks and extensive lab panels.

It wasn’t until I started asking patients — what actually made the difference? — that a clear pattern emerged.

> 70%
of patients attributed their improvement to how they understood and related to their health challenges — not a supplement or test result.

That finding reshaped everything. My approach is rooted in methodical, evidence-informed care. I always take your mindset, values, and beliefs into consideration for any lab or treatment, and believe that education and sustainable practices can do more for our health than handfuls of supplements or strict lifestyle protocols.

What To Expect

FIRST VISIT:  A conversation about your health story, and looking for patterns.

I want to understand not just your symptoms, but your history, your beliefs about your health, and what you’ve already tried. Nothing is irrelevant.

THE FIRST SIX MONTHS: A strategic plan.

I look at patterns and prioritize what needs to be addressed. Personalized supplements, nutrition, and/or herbal treatments are part of the plan (but don’t control the plan).

AFTER 6 MONTHS: Modify and maintain.

We adjust based on what’s actually working. When something doesn’t help, we modify accordingly.

THE ULTIMATE GOAL

You feel better and understand your body better — and need me only for guidance and follow up testing as needed.

What I treat

I have experience in addressing almost any symptom or condition via functional medicine, and am particularly passionate about what I call the “G.A.M.E.” changers:

  • Gut-brain health (including Alzheimer’s Disease prevention/early treatment, anxiety/depression)
  • Autoimmunity (including immune imbalances triggered by response to microbes such as Covid)
  • Metabolic/Mitochondria (including fatigue, pain)
  • Environmental/Endocrine/Eu-Aging (including hormone replacement therapy or optimization)

Some example symptoms and conditions I treat:

  • Persistent bloating or constipation
  • Autoimmune conditions such as Hashimoto’s and Grave’s Thyroiditis
  • Mycotoxin-associated illness
  • Hormone restoration in perimenopause, menopause, and “andropause”

Getting Started

Step 1: Free 15 minute consultation.  For patients who worked with Meg at another practice, fill out this form to skip the consultation.

Step 2: One hour introductory visit/consult (includes an depth review of medical history) ($300)

Step 3: One hour planning session to review baseline labs ($300) (option to purchase labs at cost, around $250)

Step 4: For continued care, a 6-month program will be recommended (most prefer the Refine Program, at $129/month)

Note, a patient must be physically located in Texas or Florida at the time of appointments, per state medical practice laws.

FAQ

I realize that functional and integrative medicine can be cost prohibitive, and my services take this into account (while also reflecting my 12+ years of experience, wisdom, and countless hours of education).

My fee schedule is as follows:

  • Introductory consultation (60 min): $300
  • Follow Ups (60 min): $300
    • Program members only: 10 min or 30 min visits available
  • Refine Program (see below for details): $129/month
  • Deep Dive Clarity Program (see below for all details): $1000/month

Program Details

This is for comprehensive, relationship-building care (versus transactional, “fee-for-service” care).  All programs require a 3-month commitment:

  • Refine Program ($129/month):
    • Best for those who need continued follow ups to maintain prescriptions (e.g. hormone replacement therapy, thyroid management)
    • Includes 2 one-hour follow up visits (or option to split one or both of these into 30 minute visits)
    • Access to asynchronous messaging
    • Ability to request dates/times for appointments that aren’t available on the self-scheduling platform
    • Access to member-only access resources (including recipes, handouts, education, and more)
    • Prescriptions and lab costs are not included
    • After 6-months, option to turn this into a 12-month program ($65/month, 2 one-hour visits a year) based on individual circumstances and clinical needs
  • The Deep Dive Clarity Program ($6000 for 6 months)
    • Reserved for 3 people every 6 months
    • For those who want a guided deep dive into health without overwhelm (think of this like a university-level “semester” where you learn about your biology and physiology, all from  a clinician and educator with 12+ years of experience in functional medicine); examples of who this may be good for:
      • Someone who wants personalized thyroid or hormone therapy optimization (with detailed lab tracking)
      • Someone who wants pre-conception optimization and evaluation
      • Someone who wants to optimize gut health
      • Someone who is wanting to be proactive in optimal aging
    • Includes 2 functional medicine tests and Quest labs
    • Includes monthly check in calls or “walk and talks” in addition to 2 full one-hour visits and asynchronous messaging
    • Includes video-recordings of  lab results
    • Priority scheduling (even weekends, if desired)
    • A visual custom roadmap and resource vault with personalized pathway
    • Prescriptions not included, but may be covered by insurance

All programs require a minimum 3-month commitment.

High quality supplements can be purchased at 20% off through Fullscript (click here to get set up).

I accept all major credit cards.

I require payment be made prior to your appointment through a card on file. If there are issues with payment going through, this may result in appointment cancellation.

For memberships, there is an option to pay monthly or pay in full for 6 months. Memberships will NOT automatically renew after 6 months.

Cancellation policy:

If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, I have already spent time preparing for your appointment and this is a disservice to me (and affects the ability of other patients to be serviced).

I respectfully request 2 business days notice if you need to cancel.  A fee may be applied if cancellation or no-show occurs within 2 business days.

For memberships, I respectfully request a 3 month commitment. Cancellations will be on a case-by-case basis, and take into account time and care already provided (via visits, messages, etc).

I am not contracted with, or bill, insurance companies directly for services.  But I can provide a super bill to submit to insurance for out of pocket care.

I am not registered with Medicare or Medicaid.

For commercial lab work, I offer up front cash prices (generally under $300, even for a very large panel of tests).  You can opt to have Quest or Labcorp bill your insurance for labs (unless you have Medicare or Medicaid), but I cannot guarantee insurance coverage.

Why don’t most functional or integrative medicine clinics take insurance?

Traditionally, insurance companies dictate what can or cannot be ordered (and thus covered), and do not reimburse for time spent with patients (and time is a significant factor in healing!).

Possibly, depending on your needs.

Committing to a membership allows for communication between visits, the option for quick phone calls or labs, and access to new perks as they evolve (e.g. educational videos, discounts to various health-related products, events, etc).

Every individual visit is $300, but communication between visits is not included (I thoroughly and thoughtfully respond to messages – membership costs encompass the time/effort it takes for me to provide high quality responds)

  • There is no license or degree in functional medicine.  Some training institutions offer certifications (but not required for practice).
  • Functional medicine practitioners are trained via a variety of organizations, with the most popular programs via the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), School of Applied Functional Medicine (SAFM), and the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
  • When you see a functional medicine practitioner who has education in mainstream medicine (MD, DO, PA, NP), we are obligated to address the “standard of care” as well as functional medicine services.  For example, if someone has really high cholesterol, a statin is the standard of care (pros and cons of which will be discussed during a visit).

However, anyone can call themselves a “functional medicine practitioner,” even without training, since there are no licensing or certifying organizations that regulate this model of medicine.  This can make it very confusing for both patients and practitioners!

To see a list of the 16+ organizations where I have received training (in addition to being IFM certified), click here.

  • The “best” patient for functional medicine is one that:
    • Wants to decrease reliance on pharmaceuticals
    • Wants to do more for their health beyond pills (for example, modify habits such as avoiding coffee on an empty stomach)
    • Wants to be an active participant in his/her health
    • Wants an investigative provider
    • Wants longer appointments
    • Wants to set an example for their family (or transfer what is learned in a functional medicine visit to support the health of his/her family)
  • Functional medicine is best for those that:
    • Want to understand their body, be educated.
    • Understand that there is no magic pill or quick fix for a chronic illness or symptom.
    • Want to optimize health for the long-term, to improve overall quality of life.

Functional medicine:

  • PROMOTES health and feeling good on a daily basis
  • Is a model best suited for addressing/reversing CHRONIC diseases/symptoms or PREVENTING chronic disease states.
  • Functional medicine is a MODEL – not a specialty.
  • PERSONALIZED medicine. There are no treatment algorithms in functional medicine (algorithms often imply a “one-size-fits all approach”).
  • A lot of functional medicine care is not validated or recognized by mainstream medicine. Many treatments and tests utilized in functional medicine are considered “experimental” (but generally come from new medical research that has not yet been tested on thousands of people)

Mainstream/Conventional Medicine:

  • Focused on TREATING DISEASES (over improving overall health and resiliency)
  • Great at addressing ACUTE healthcare needs.
  • Great for those that don’t want a lot of time with a practitioner, or who don’t want to understand the “why” behind a treatment recommendation or presence of a condition/symptom
  • Great for those that don’t want to put the work into improving lifestyle or mindset, and prefer a convenient pill or procedure.

I currently do not treat:

  • Pediatric conditions (anyone under the age of 18; however, I will accept patients between 12-18 years old if a parent is enrolled in care).
  • Active cancer
  • Lyme or vector-borne disease
